About the Society

The Union Pacific Historical Society was founded September 1, 1984 in Denver, Colorado. The purpose of the society is to collect, organize, distribute, and publish information relating to the operation and equipment of the Union Pacific Railroad.

The Union Pacific Historical Society publishes a quarterly journal, The Streamliner. Articles cover a variety of topics on motive power, rolling stock, structures, oral history, and operations. With in-depth and award winning articles, The Streamliner is the definitive source for Union Pacific history.
